1^st Chase River Guides

We are very excited to get another Guiding year under way.

Our First Meeting will be Tuesday September ... 2012 at the ..... Hall from ....

REALLY IMPORTANT:  We do have enough Guiders to start our year – BUT – Christine and Steph are the only ones at this time who can commit to almost all meetings/activities.  So we really, really need at least one, preferably two new leaders who can commit to almost all meetings/activities.  This is the way that we can have fun ‘extra’ activities like Field Trips and Camps which we know are the most fun.  Please think of anyone who might be interested in becoming a Guider AND who you think would be a great Guider – and have her contact me asap!

Girls are to wear their Guide uniform if they have it or their old Brownie uniform or blue shirt, dark pants and running shoes (as we never know when we might decide to go outside!). Check out http://www.girlguides.ca/ for info about the Guide uniform.  The girls have a new uniform this year – but can always wear older style of uniform if that is what they have/want.  We will be doing District Orders this year – I will be putting in an order next week

We are already planning our year, and several dates to be aware of now are:

• October 1^st – District Campfire  - Mafeo Sutton Park – 6-7:30pm – more info closer to date
• October 2^nd – Fall Cookies – one case will be given to each Guide.  More will be available once these are sold.  Cheques are preferred if at all possible.  If you’d like two cases that’s great! (sorry about two meetings this week  but we need to get the cookies handed out as soon as we get them!)
• December 4^th – likely last meeting of December – possibly Carolling or similar activity

Some of our plans for the year are:

Camps	Badge work	Surprises!

We communicate by email – it saves on paper, and this past year worked really well as everyone had email. Even though we address the emails to the parents, we’d really like it if the Guides also had a chance to read the emails – as almost all of the emails directly concern the girls!  On the rare occasion there is a last minute change of plans/cancellation we will PHONE and EMAIL – if possible.
